Janki Deodat enjoys writing lyrical stories that reflects her own experiences. As a Nanny for twenty years in Chicago land, her favorite time with children was reading. Janki is an immigrant from Guyana. Her grandfather moved to Guyana from India to what was then British Guiana with his parents in 1916 as indentured servants. Janki attended Cove and John primary school, Golden Grove Secondary School, and studied freelance writing and journalism by correspondence with Kent College in London. She served her community as an agent for Guyanese radio and television. Janki immigrated to the USA in 2004 and attended Truman College in Chicago. She worked in many fields but being a Nanny was her true calling. During that time, many stories were shared which inspired much of Janki’s writing today.
